In Southern California there are only so many paving
methods to choose from. Concrete in either plain or stamped, brick, asphalt,
gravel, dirt, brick, and paving stone.
They range in price with of course, dirt being at the bottom and brick being at the top.
The paving method
of choice for most homes has been concrete. However, over the last
9 years, more and more home owners have been choosing paving stones.
Why?
Well,
let's take a look at the current most used method, concrete. How many
times can you recall tripping over cracked concrete? You may have
noticed your neighbors or worse yet, your own driveway and see cracks
in the pave-ment.
Concrete happens
to be one of the less expensive methods of pavement,
however how many times does one have to repave their home's driveway
for the life of the home? Two? Three? Four?
The answer for paving
stones is one. Paving stones are warranted against cracking for life,
which means you will never have to re-pave again!
The same is true
for brick and asphalt. They crack, break, and need replacement.
Being in Southern
California, only three methods are earth-quake resistant; dirt, gravel,
and paving stones.
Of course paving
stones also come in many colors, pat-terns, sizes, and shapes. They
hands down the most aes-thetic paving method.

An
article written by Fortune Magazine in 2003 claimed paving stones
can increase home
owner's property values by up to 15%.
Factors
taken into consideration were the amount of paving stones used, the
uniqueness
of paving stones, the fact that you won't have to replace paving stones
in the future, and that they add value to your curb appeal (if done
as part of the front of the house).
Curb appeal is one
of the most important factors in apprais-ing your home. Normally this
is the first thing seen when viewing a home. Look at the pictures
in this newsletter, or in our gallery, and then imagine being in the
home buying market. You can really get the idea of what Pacific Paving-stone
can do for curb appeal and the value of a property!
